Upscale increases the resolution of an image while preserving detail and sharpness. This is a direct canvas operation, so you do not need to send a prompt to the agent.
Using canvas tools directly gives you more control and uses significantly fewer credits than sending a prompt to the agent. For upscaling, always use this tool instead of asking the agent.

How to upscale an image

1

Select an image on the canvas

Open the canvas in the side panel and click the image you want to upscale. The image editing toolbar appears.
2

In the toolbar, click the Image Upscale button.

Choose your scale factor

Select how much to increase the resolution:
ScaleWhat it does
1xEnhances quality without changing dimensions
2xDoubles the width and height
3xTriples the width and height
4xQuadruples the width and height
Higher scale factors produce larger files and use more credits.

Review the result

A new upscaled image appears on the canvas. Your original image is preserved as a separate item.
Upscale creates a new canvas item. It does not overwrite the original. You always keep both versions.

When to use this

  • Preparing images for print where high resolution is required.
  • Enlarging AI-generated images that were created at a lower resolution.
  • Creating assets for large-format displays, posters, or billboards.
  • Improving clarity on images that will be cropped heavily.

Credit cost

Upscaling cost depends on the output size of the image. Larger outputs cost more.
Output sizeRelative cost
BaseLowest
Up to 48 megapixelsMedium
Up to 96 megapixelsHigh
Over 96 megapixelsHighest
If you only need a slight quality improvement without increasing dimensions, use the 1x option. It enhances the image at the lowest cost.

What you cannot do

  • You cannot upscale a video. This tool works on images only.
  • You cannot upscale beyond 4x in a single operation. For higher resolution, upscale in multiple steps (for example, 2x then 2x again).
  • You cannot choose a specific output resolution in pixels. You choose a scale factor and the output dimensions are calculated from the original.
