AI Reports generates multi-page, analyst-style reports from a text prompt or a web article. The agent conducts real research, evaluates sources, generates charts, and delivers a structured report with citations. You refine the result using a built-in Markdown editor or by asking the agent for changes in the chat. AI Report Generation is a feature exclusive to Runable.
AI Reports is available on Starter, Pro, and Unlimited plans. It is not available on the Free plan.

Two ways to create a report

You can start a report in two ways:
  • Report from Prompt - Describe what you need and the agent researches, writes, and structures the entire report from scratch.
  • Report from Article - Provide a web article or URL and the agent generates a comprehensive report based on that source, expanded with additional research.

What you get in a report

Every report follows a conclusion-first structure:
SectionPurpose
Executive SummaryThe answer in 2–3 sentences
Key Findings3–4 bullet takeaways
AnalysisEvidence and reasoning, organized by argument
MethodologySources used, approach taken, and limitations
ReferencesFull citations with URLs and access dates
The agent also generates charts and visualizations as images where data supports it. Charts include labels, units, and titles so they are readable without additional context.
Example use cases: Market research, competitive analysis, quarterly business reviews, strategic recommendations, data analysis, industry trend reports, investment memos, project post-mortems.

How the agent researches

The agent follows a structured research process before writing:
The agent identifies your audience, what decisions the report informs, what is in scope and out of scope, and what depth is appropriate. It presents this plan to you for approval before proceeding.
The agent searches the web for relevant information, pulling from a range of source types. It saves findings to its workspace as it goes.
Sources are ranked across four tiers: official docs and primary research (highest), technical blogs and analysts (high), news and press releases (medium), and forums and social media (context only). Major claims require three or more independent sources.
Raw findings are transformed into a coherent narrative. Each conclusion is built from a chain: fact, then analysis, then conclusion.
The agent checks that all claims are supported, citations are complete, and the report is ready for delivery.

Select your page count before generating. Longer reports require a higher plan tier.

The Markdown editor

Reports are delivered as Markdown rendered to HTML. When you open a report, you edit it with a built-in Markdown editor that gives you visual formatting tools through a floating toolbar. The editor supports:
ElementWhat you can do
ParagraphsWrite and edit body text
HeadingsAdd section and subsection headings
Bold, italic, codeApply inline formatting to selected text
LinksAdd clickable links to text
BlockquotesIndent text as a quote or callout
Code blocksAdd formatted code with syntax highlighting
TablesCreate and edit tables with rows, columns, and headers

Version history

Every edit you make creates a new version. Each version is a complete snapshot of all pages in the report. You can view previous versions and restore any one of them to undo changes.

Importing existing reports

You can import an existing report from a file. Upload a document or image and Runable creates a page-based report structure from it. This is useful when you want to bring in a report you created elsewhere and continue editing it in Runable.

What AI Reports does not support

  • Embedding interactive components like live charts or calculators inside report pages.
  • Page numbers, headers, or footers.
  • Adding images through the editor. Images and charts are placed by the agent during generation.
  • Exporting to DOCX or other word processing formats. Export is PDF only.
  • Real-time collaboration with other users on the same report.
